Support Groups

Whether the abuse happened recently or decades ago, it can have a big impact on your life now. Our free and confidential support groups can help you strengthen community among survivors, learn and share skills for coping, and find ways to move beyond the abuse.

Centre Safe offers several support groups to support, provide resources, and assist survivors and their loved ones in the journey through the healing process.

Domestic Violence Support Group for Women

  • This group focuses on emotional, physical, verbal, mental and financial abuse. This group enables women to talk about these issues in a supportive and confidential environment.
  • Supervised children’s group meets at the same time as the adult support group. Snacks are provided.
  • This group meets weekly for an hour and a half.

  • Each week will address a different topic that is aimed at providing the correct information about sexual assault including myths and misinformation; dealing with feelings of guilt and shame and learning how to heal from the trauma.
  • Along with weekly topics there will be time for open discussion.
  • Before attending this group, you must speak with a facilitator.
  • This group meets weekly for 4 weeks for one hour.

Given that abuse often has gender components, we apologize for the lack of separate groups for trans and non binary survivors. Please feel free to choose whichever group best aligns with your experiences.
