A Note from Centre Safe on COVID-19
Posted on March 17, 2020
At Centre Safe, our mission is to empower survivors and eliminate violence. That remains our mission during these uncertain times, as we make the health and safety of our clients, staff, and community a priority. As a result of COVID-19 and guidance issued throughout the state and nation, we are making a few temporary changes to minimize the risk of spreading this virus while maximizing our capacity to continue to serve Centre County.
While our offices will be operating with reduced staffing for the next two weeks, our services will continue. For anyone seeking services, please call our 24-hour number at 877-234-5050. A trained counselor advocate will be available.
This is a fast-moving and changing situation, and we will continue to closely monitor the situation and information available to us, following guidance issued. We will update our community as necessary.
If you have any questions about our services during this time, please call us at 877-234-5050. Please continue to take care of yourselves, and call us any time.
Looking for ways to help? Gift cards to Walmart, Target, local grocery stores, and gas stations are extremely helpful at this time. Gift cards can be dropped off at 140 W. Nittany Ave. between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
A Note from the Child Access Center (CAC)
In response to the COVID-19 virus and recommendations by officials, the Child Access Center is suspending supervised visitation services through 3/22/2020 and will reevaluate this decision on 3/23/2020, taking into account any new information and recommendations that come our way. We recognize that this might be disruptive to children and parents, but we feel responsible to consider safety from many angles. Custody exchanges will be evaluated on a case by case basis and will continue should we identify safety and especially lethality concerns for those families.
We continue to be here for the parents/guardians and children that we serve. If we can offer an ear to listen or information about community resources to meet a need to ease your troubles during this trying time, please reach out to us. We are exploring other options and avenues for services, but in line with our mission, believe that we need to put safety first at this time.
